Taking the sneaker drive abroad, the sights were set on Panama. For the third round of The Kickback, we partnered with Go Fund Me to fundraise money for school supplies, uniform, sports equipment and the essentials of learning. Over the course of 5 days, we helped 500+ kids through a basketball tournament, promoting play and education in Curundú and Chorillo. 100+ pairs of sneakers, 100+ books, and dictionaries, along with art supplies and school uniform.
The second round consisted of workstations, life-skills, goal-setting and basketball workouts to promote a work ethic and teamwork. Again, over 100 pairs of sneakers were delivered to kids, geared towards reminding them to make the most of their summertime, and go back to school with their hopes set high. Dreams and mental health were discussed to let the community know we’re all in this together.
With Back-to-School in mind, the first round saw over 100 pairs of sneakers delivered to kids in the community. Instilling confidence and providing the right footwear for high-level sport, we were able to promote education and alleviate some of the costs parents normally have to address right before school starts.
